## Joules to Volts calculation formula

V_{(V)} = E_{(J)} / Q_{(C)}

The voltage **V** in volts (V) is equal to the energy **E** in joules (J), divided by the electric charge **Q** in coulombs (C).

So,

*V = J / C*

*volt = joule / coulomb*

**For example:**

*Energy (E) = 45J*

*Charge (Q) = 3C*

*Voltage (V) = 45J / 3C = 15V*
