## Joules to watts calculation formula

P_{(W)} = E_{(J)} / t_{(s)}

The power **P** in watts (W) is equal to the energy **E** in joules (J), divided by the time period **t** in seconds (s).

So,

*W = J / s*

*watt = joule / second*

**For example:**

*Energy (E) = 45J*

*Time period = 5s*

*Power (P) = 45J / 5s = 9W*
