## Volts to joules calculation formula

E_{(J)} = V_{(V)} × Q_{(C)}

The energy **E** in joules (J) is equal to the voltage **V** in volts (V), multiplied by the electrical charge **Q** in coulombs (C).

So,

*J = V x C*

*joule = volt × coulomb*

**For example:**

*Voltage (V) = 20V*

*Electrical charge (Q) = 3C*

*Energy (E) = 20V x 3C = 60J*
