## Joules to kW calculation formula

P_{(kW)} = E_{(J)} / (1000 x t_{(s)})

The power **P** in kilowatts (kW) is equal to the energy **E** in joules (J), divided by 1000, multiplied by the time period **t** in seconds (s).

So,

*kW = J / (1000 × s)*

*kilowatt = joule / (1000 × second)*

**For example:**

*Energy (E) = 65J*

*Time period (t) = 15s*

*Power (P) = 65J / (1000 x 15s) = 0,004kW*
