How to Use the Calculator

You can also remove any course row by clicking the “Remove” button.

Formula Used:

The calculator uses the following standard GPA formula:

$$\text{GPA} = \frac{\sum (\text{Grade Points} \times \text{Credit Hours})}{\sum (\text{Credit Hours})}$$

Each letter grade is converted into grade points:

• A = 4.0, A– = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, etc.

Example:

Let’s say you have the following courses:

Calculation:

• Math: 4.0 × 4 = 16.0

• History: 3.3 × 3 = 9.9

• Biology: 2.7 × 3 = 8.1

$$\text{Total Grade Points}=16.0+9.9+8.1=34.0$$

$$\text{Total Credits}=4+3+3=10$$

$$\text{Total Grade Points} = 16.0 + 9.9 + 8.1 = 34.0 \\ \text{Total Credits} = 4 + 3 + 3 = 10 \\ \text{GPA} = \frac{34.0}{10} = 3.40$$

Your GPA would be 3.40.
